Kaki King - Dreaming Of Revenge [2008]

I remember when I bought her last record, ...Until We Felt Red, and really enjoyed it.  However, this is above and beyond the previous LP in all ways.  It's a lot more focused and it's actually quite inspired I think.  She displays a variety of her own styles throughout this record and it moves at a great pace.  It's been a good couple of years for female guitarists/frontwomen like Feist, Cat Power, Ai Aso, Emily Haines, etc.  I think that whole 'scene' has really outdone itself and this record shows it.

Kim Gordon, DJ Olive & Ikue Mori - SYR5 [2000]

I do love a good Kim Gordon collaboration, but I've only heard of DJ Olive previously (apparently he started the "illbient" shit or something).  Not quite a noise record, which is what I expected because of Kim and the fact that it's on SYR.  I think it's pretty laid-back but in an engaging way.  It's a strange collaboration
but it's not too out there or anything.
Honestly, I look at it this way: I know there's a drug that's perfect for this record, but I don't know what it is because I haven't done it.
